- Extension Spring Safety Cables Assemblies
Extension cables are usually used when you have a low headroom garage, as they ae installed horizontally along the garage and connect to the bottom corners of the door.
- Wear and tear over the lifetime of the garage
- Deformed or bent tracking preventing cable from smoothly rolling
- Debris, or obstructions that got into the tracks
- Lack of Preventative maintenance
- Improper installation/Incorrect Equipment
- Tension Spring not calibrated properly
- Broken Cables can also happen if a spring has snapped
These are signs that your door may need to have cables repaired or replaced include doors jamming on a side, uneven closing and opening, an apparent visible break, or even inability to open or close. Many factors can lead to cable malfunctions and breakage.
The necessary length of cable varies based on the door and the style of lift: vertical-lift and high-lift doors require longer cables than standard-lift doors because of the positioning and style of the cable drums. When measuring an old cable, measure the entire length of the cable from end to end, including spool, loop, or stop of the cable.
