How to Select the Correct Replacement Spring
1. Choose the Spring Wind
Select either Left Wind or Right Wind.
Please note that spring wind does not always determine which side of the door
the spring is installed on.
2. Measure the Wire Size
Measure the length of 10 coils with no gaps between the coils,
then compare your measurement to the chart below. For better accuracy, also
measure 20 coils. Both measurements should match the same wire size.

3. Measure the Inside Diameter
Measure the inside diameter of the spring to the nearest
1/16". Common sizes may vary depending on the door system.
4. Measure the Spring Length
Measure the spring while it is fully unwound.
If the spring is intact, measure from end to end. If the spring is broken,
measure each piece and add the lengths together to get the total spring length.
