The Genie 6170H-B Wall-Mount Garage Door Opener attaches directly to the garage door’s torsion shaft, eliminating the traditional ceiling-mounted rail and powerhead. This compact configuration opens valuable overhead space and is ideal for garages with ceiling beams, storage racks, high ceilings, or other obstructions.
A powerful 24V DC motor provides smooth and quiet operation with soft-start and soft-stop control. Integrated Aladdin Connect technology enables compatible smartphone monitoring and control, while the included battery backup allows continued operation during many electrical outages.

Torsion Spring System Required: This wall-mount opener connects directly to a compatible torsion shaft. It is not designed for garage doors using standard extension springs or for one-piece tilt-up doors.
Door Must Be Properly Balanced: The published 850 lb. capacity does not mean the opener should lift the full dead weight of an unbalanced door. The torsion springs must counterbalance the door so it can be moved smoothly and safely by hand before the opener is connected.
Installation Clearance Required: Wall-mount openers require sufficient torsion-shaft projection, side clearance, bearing-plate clearance, ceiling clearance, and access to a properly grounded electrical outlet. Measure the installation area and review the current Genie pre-installation guide before ordering.

TorqueMaster Systems: Wayne Dalton TorqueMaster spring systems may require a compatible Genie TorqueMaster adapter kit, sold separately. Confirm the exact spring system and adapter requirements before ordering.
