The LiftMaster G828LMMC Internet Gateway connects compatible myQ-enabled access products to the internet, allowing users to monitor and control supported devices through the myQ app.
Once connected to a compatible internet router, users can check whether a garage door is open or closed, operate supported doors and lights remotely, receive real-time activity alerts, and create schedules. This gateway is especially useful for compatible myQ products that do not have built-in Wi-Fi.

Ethernet Connection Required: The 828LM is not a Wi-Fi gateway. It must be connected directly to a compatible internet router or network switch using an Ethernet cable. It also requires a nearby electrical outlet for power.
Basic Setup
- Connect the Internet Gateway to the router using an Ethernet cable.
- Connect the gateway to electrical power and wait for the green status light.
- Open the myQ app and select the option to add a new accessory.
- Enter the 10-digit myQ serial number printed on the gateway.
- Follow the in-app instructions to pair compatible garage door, gate, lighting, or commercial operator products.
Compatibility Is Required: The Internet Gateway does not make every garage door opener myQ compatible. The connected opener, control panel, gate operator, commercial operator, or lighting product must already support myQ communication.
Yellow LEARN Button Exception: Most compatible Chamberlain Group openers with a yellow LEARN button support myQ, but a small number of yellow-button models do not. LiftMaster specifically identifies model 8010 as incompatible. Always verify the exact opener model before ordering.
Compatibility Notice
Verify the garage door opener, commercial operator, gate operator, control panel, or lighting model before ordering. Also confirm myQ compatibility, router availability, an open Ethernet port, internet service, a nearby electrical outlet, and sufficient communication range between the gateway and connected myQ products.
Range Notice: LiftMaster estimates an average communication range of approximately 300 to 600 feet between the Internet Gateway and compatible myQ devices. Walls, metal construction, electrical equipment, building materials, and radio interference may reduce the actual range.
Not Needed for Built-In Wi-Fi: Most newer LiftMaster openers with built-in Wi-Fi connect directly to the myQ app and generally do not require the 828LM Internet Gateway.
Safety Notice: Only use remote door control when the garage door or gate system has all required monitored safety devices installed and operating correctly. Keep the travel path clear of people, pets, vehicles, and other obstructions before activating a connected access system.
