4:1 Shaft-Mounted Garage Door Chain Hoist for 1" Shaft
Gear-reduced manual chain hoist designed for controlled operation of compatible commercial sectional and rolling garage doors.
The JR-ST Chain Hoist mounts directly to a compatible 1-inch keyed torsion shaft. Its external sprocket and roller-chain drive provide a dependable manual operating system for commercial or industrial overhead doors.
A 4:1 mechanical reduction multiplies the operator’s pulling force, making a properly balanced door easier to open and close by hand. The enclosed snap-shut housing protects the internal operating components, while the supplied hand chain allows the door to be operated from floor level.
4:1 Mechanical Reduction Reduces the pulling effort required to manually operate a properly balanced commercial garage door.
Shaft-Mounted Design Installs directly on a compatible 1-inch keyed torsion shaft for a compact jackshaft-style setup.
Complete Hoist Kit Includes the primary sprocket, chain, collars, key, wall bracket, and hand-chain components required for installation.

Shaft-Mount Installation: The hoist mounts directly onto the torsion shaft. The sprockets must be aligned before installing the #41 roller chain, and the shaft key, set screws, and collars must be properly secured. The supplied wall bracket stabilizes the housing and helps prevent excessive movement during operation.
Hand-Chain Length: The included 26-foot hand chain is typically formed into a continuous operating loop. Additional hand chain may be required for doors taller than approximately 14 feet or installations where the shaft is unusually high. The completed loop should generally hang approximately one foot above the floor.
Dimensions Notice: Overall housing dimensions, sprocket diameter, mounting clearances, and wall-bracket hole spacing are not published in the available product listing. Confirm available shaft length, side clearance, wall space, and alignment before ordering.
Compatibility Notice
Verify the 1-inch shaft diameter, 1/4-inch keyway, available shaft length, door type, total door weight, lift configuration, hoist mounting side, sprocket alignment, hand-chain length, side clearance, and structural mounting location before ordering. This model is not designed for a 1-1/4-inch shaft.
Important Operation Notice: A chain hoist is intended to operate a properly balanced and freely moving garage door. It should not be used to force open a door with broken springs, damaged tracks, seized bearings, jammed rollers, excessive resistance, or other mechanical problems.
Safety Warning: Garage door shafts, springs, sprockets, chains, cable drums, and lifting cables can cause serious injury if improperly installed or serviced. Secure the door, keep hands and clothing away from moving chains and sprockets, and completely release spring tension when required. Professional commercial garage door installation is strongly recommended.
