Clopay EZ-Set Torsion Spring – .177 × 1-3/4" × 32" Gold B
Genuine galvanized EZ-Set replacement spring available in left-wound or right-wound configurations with compatible cones installed.
The Clopay Gold B EZ-Set Torsion Spring is designed for compatible Clopay, Ideal Door, and Holmes residential garage doors equipped with the EZ-Set torsion spring system.
This spring uses .177" wire, has a 1-3/4" inside diameter, and measures 32" long. Select the left-wound or right-wound version according to the original spring part number, winding direction, and door configuration.

Choose the Correct Winding Direction: Left-wound and right-wound springs are not interchangeable. Match the replacement spring to the part number, winding direction, dimensions, and Gold B marking of the original spring.
Do Not Select by Color Alone: Gold B is an identification code, but it is not enough by itself to confirm the correct spring. Verify the wire size, inside diameter, length, winding direction, spring quantity, original part number, and required door weight capacity.
Left-Wound Spring – 0145030
Select part 0145030 when the original spring is identified as the left-wound Gold B spring. This option includes one galvanized .177 × 1-3/4" × 32" EZ-Set spring with compatible cones.
Right-Wound Spring – 0145040
Select part 0145040 when the original spring is identified as the right-wound Gold B spring. This option includes one galvanized .177 × 1-3/4" × 32" EZ-Set spring with compatible cones.
EZ-Set Systems Only: This spring is specially gapped and designed for a compatible Clopay EZ-Set winding system. It is not a standard torsion spring and should not be installed with conventional winding cones, standard winding bars, or a conventional torsion-shaft setup.
Single- and Dual-Spring Doors: Some EZ-Set doors use one spring, while others use matching left- and right-wound springs. Maintain the spring quantity and configuration specified for the garage door. Do not convert between single- and dual-spring arrangements without properly recalculating the spring requirements.
Replacing Two-Spring Systems: When a garage door uses two springs of similar age, replacing both springs together is generally recommended. The remaining spring has experienced the same operating cycles and may be approaching the end of its service life.
