The Clopay Safety Leaf Bumper Set mounts near the rear of the horizontal tracks on a compatible sectional overhead door. As the door reaches the fully open position, the leaf springs cushion and limit its travel before the rollers can strike the ends of the tracks or leave the intended track area.
The stored spring force also provides a controlled push when the door begins closing. This is especially useful with compatible jackshaft-operated doors, where maintaining lifting-cable tension at the fully open position helps prevent loose cables, cable overlap, and improper winding around the cable drums.

Designed for Horizontal Track Installation: The bumper assemblies attach near the rear of the horizontal garage door tracks. Their placement must allow both sides of the door to contact the bumpers evenly without interfering with the rollers, hinges, operator, track supports, or surrounding structure.
Jackshaft Operator Benefit: Jackshaft operators rotate the torsion shaft rather than pulling the door with a ceiling-mounted trolley. Leaf bumpers can provide the initial door movement needed to keep the cables tensioned while the shaft begins turning in the closing direction.
Leaf Style vs. Torpedo Style

Installation and Adjustment
