Check the LEARN Button Before Ordering: The 877LM is designed primarily for Security+ 2.0 garage door openers with a yellow circular LEARN button. Locate the LEARN button on the opener motor unit or compatible wall control and confirm its color before purchasing.
Not a Universal Keypad: This model should not be confused with the LiftMaster 877MAX or 878MAX universal keypads. The 877LM is not intended for older openers with green, red/orange, purple, or other noncompatible LEARN buttons.
Temporary Access
Compatible systems may allow a temporary PIN to be programmed for a selected number of openings or a limited period. This can provide temporary garage access for guests, service technicians, delivery personnel, or contractors without sharing the primary PIN.
Compatibility Notice
Verify the garage door opener model, LEARN-button color, radio technology, programming method, and available exterior mounting location before ordering. Some wall-mount openers or specialty receiver systems may require programming through the wall control rather than directly at the motor unit.
Battery Maintenance: Replace the battery with a fresh 9V alkaline battery when the keypad illumination becomes dim, the operating range decreases, or the keypad no longer communicates reliably with the opener.
