Upgrade or rebuild the torsion hardware on a 8-foot-tall residential garage door with this standard-lift conversion kit. It includes the cable drums, lift cables, bearing plates, center support hardware, nylon bearing, and installation fasteners commonly needed to support a standard torsion spring assembly.
This kit is useful when converting a compatible door from an extension spring, EZ-Set, or TorqueMaster-style system to a conventional torsion setup. It can also be used to replace worn drums, cables, bearings, or mounting hardware on an existing standard torsion system.
Matched 8' Door Hardware Includes pre-cut lift cables and compatible standard-lift hardware for eligible 8-foot residential garage doors.

Suitable Conversion Applications
When the garage door and surrounding structure are compatible, this hardware package may be used when converting from:

- Worn or incomplete standard torsion hardware
Torsion Springs Are Not Included: The correct torsion spring size cannot be selected from door height alone. Spring wire size, inside diameter, length, wind direction, and quantity must be calculated using the actual garage door weight and hardware configuration.
Torsion Shaft Is Not Included: A compatible 1-inch torsion shaft must be purchased separately. The shaft must be long enough for the door width, drums, bearings, springs, and required end clearance.
Standard-Lift Doors Only: This package is intended for compatible 8-foot-tall doors with a standard-lift track arrangement. It is not intended for high-lift, vertical-lift, rear-torsion, low-headroom rear-torsion, or custom cable-drum systems.
Compatibility Notice: Before ordering, verify the door height, door width, actual door weight, track configuration, drum type, cable diameter, shaft diameter, spring location, available headroom, center support location, end-bearing offset, and mounting surface.
Additional Components May Be Required: Torsion spring or springs, 1-inch torsion shaft, winding bars, spring cones, bottom brackets, flag brackets, angle supports, additional fasteners, and installation tools are not included unless specifically stated.
Extreme-Tension Safety Warning: Garage door torsion springs, lift cables, bottom brackets, and cable drums can be under extreme tension. Improper installation or adjustment can cause uncontrolled door movement, severe injury, or death. The door must be secured and all spring tension safely released before servicing the system. Professional installation is strongly recommended.
